Just back from a whirlwind visit to France with my mother, Jean. Paris, Lyon, Arles etc. Just a visual joy to see so much art on display in everyday life – makes North American cityscapes look so boring. Sculpture and great graphics and charm abound. Lyon is an amazing pedestrian city – cars are pushed to the side not people. Paris has some great bike lanes. Watch here for images from my lens, heart and mind as I sort through my exciting new collection of visual work. Mais Oui!

ALGONQUIN ART 2011 ‘Being Water’

‘Being Water’ is based on a photograph I took on Rock Lake in Algonquin and illustrates my theme and belief that Nature is aware and conscious. ‘BeingWater’ is whimsical and fantasy oriented. How many faces of water can you see? I count more than 9 faces but then water is multi-faceted, multi-talented and very changeable. Our bodies are over two thirds water. No wonder we need to move and dance with this magical element.

Dance Workshop Review Spring 2010

with artist Lesley Walker Fitzpatrick
“My class was extremely fortunate to
participate in the grade 5 dance workshop
with Lesley Walker Fitzpatrick just last week.
They had a fantastic day. They benefitted
tremendously … Lesley taught them with
gentle love and understanding, and infinite
patience. I was amazed by how well they
did. Students that are usually reticent and
reserved blossomed and took leadership
roles, some for probably the first time all
year. I held my breath when we got to the
improvisational part of Lesley’s program, but
it was fantastic to see how safe and comfort-
able my students felt, and how willing they
were to take risks in front of their peers. It
was truly a wonder. Every student bloomed
and grew, not just the students who take
dance classes outside of school, or the more
outgoing and confident students – literally
every student enjoyed the day, thought it
was awesome and made progress. It was a
wonderful day. I would like to thank Lesley,
and the Foundation, for giving us such a
great opportunity!”

I am a candidate for city council in Stratford. As our new Governor General, David Johston, advises I want to serve my community and contribute to creating an innovative, inspiring , caring, vibrant and creative city.

Election Day is Oct. 25th with early voting starting Oct. 18th. Electronic voting for the first time.
